The move may have been emotionally unpopular, it did make great business sense. Not only were they able to clear up $9 million in salary (which was used to bring in Tom Glavine) they were also able to upgrade Yunel Escobar from super-sub to an everyday player at short stop. And who knows what the future holds for prospects Jair Jurrjens and Gorkys Hernandez who were apart of the trade from Detroit. Of course, Edgar does not count out returning to the Braves one day, just probably not this season.
