Chipper Jones and Brian McCann make the All-Star team

For the first time since 2001, Chipper Jones will be a member of the National League All-Star team. Jones, who has flirted with batting over .400 all season, was rewarded for his stellar first half by being voted as the starting third baseman for the NL. Jones will be joined by catcher Brian McCann, who'll be making his third straight appearance in the midsummer classic. McCann became the first Braves player to be selected to three straight all-star games in his first three years. I would have liked to have seen an additional Braves player make the squad like Tim Hudson or even Yunel Escobar, but Jones and McCann have played excellent ball over the past three months and deserve their recognition. Congrats to the two and I'll be seeing you guys in the Bronx next week!
