Finally, A Walk to Remember

Oh the irony, the Braves, who have been the givers of bases loaded walks in two games this season become the receivers in the ninth inning of their 1-0 win over the Nationals. With two outs in the final frame, second baseman Kelly Johnson drew a walk, scoring Matt Diaz, who reached earlier in the inning with a single. The run scored was done too late for Jair Jurrjens to benefit with a win, but it meant his 7 2/3 scoreless innings did not go wasted.

The victory was also the Braves first one run win on the road this season. Well I asked when they’d finally do it, and we know, April 22, 2009 in Washington.

And thank goodness the Braves did not get swept by the Natinals, I mean that would be embarrassing!

News&Notes: Brian McCann is still getting used to wearing a contact in his left eye. But at least when you ask how many fingers am I holding up he doesn't see 10...Forbes has estimated the value of the Braves has declined by 10%. The Braves are one of ten organizations that the Magazine has figured has lost part of its value...Forbes also announced that the Braves are one of eight teams to be owned by a billionaire, John Malone whose company Liberty Media owns the team.
