Braves 10, Pirates 2

Recap: The Braves got off to a great start picking up a run in the first, third and fourth innings including Matt Diaz's solo shot in the fourth but kept the game close until unleashing the big bats in the eighth to pick up their first win of the season, 10-2. Both Mark Teixeira and Yunel Escobar hit homeruns in the eighth to help push seven runs across homeplate during the inning. Jair Jurrjens was impressive in his Braves debut going five and one third innings while allowing two runs on seven hits.

News & Notes: Mike Hampton will make his first big league start in over two years on Thursday...Kelly Johnson is hoping to return to the Braves lineup in the next few days after sustaining a knee injury on Tuesday.
