After starting the season with starter John Smoltz on the DL, the Braves have added Mike Hampton and Rafael Soriano the list of out of commission pitchers. Add Tom Glavine's early exit on Sunday and the recent news that Peter Moylan will take at least 15 days off, and the Braves are getting killed by the injury bug early. Moylan, the latest victim, is scheduled to meet wiht Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion on his balky elbow. Goodness, a visit with Dr. Andrews is never a good sign. In the meantime, the Braves will call up Buddy Carlyle and make Manny Acosta, Blaine Boyer and Will Ohman Atlanta's new closer by committee. Carlyle is scheduled to start on Friday moving Tom Glavine's next start to Saturday. If his hamstring is still not ready to go, the Braves could use Jeff Bennett as a stop-gap. With all these injuries the Braves will have to prove that they have the pitching depth they've been touting all winter long.
