Recap: There may not be any room for him the starting rotation, but Jeff Bennett is certainly making his case to stay in the Majors after another impressive outting in the Braves 10-2 win. Bennett pitched four scoreless innings in the game extending his scoreless streak to 11. But Bennett couldn't do all the work himself, with aid coming in the forms of Mark Teixeira's 2 for 3 day that included a double and two run homer and a 3 RBI outting by Martin Prado.
Next Game: Thursday, v. Mets @ 1:05 PM/est on ESPN
News & Notes: With the start of the season only a few days away, the Braves will have some tough choices to make but Prado and Bennett are definately letting their play do all the talking...John Smoltz will finally throw off the mound on Thursday. Smoltz is expected to start the season on the DL but should be ready for his debut on Sunday April 6th against the Mets...Miracle drug in the Braves clubhouse: anti-inflammatories...Former Braves Ryan Langerhans and Pete Orr joined Nationals teammates John Lannan and Chris Scroder in being sent down to Triple-A Columbus...In other former Braves news, the Rockies have released second baseman Marcus Giles.
