Recap: The Mets got quite a scare when pitcher Oliver Perez went down after throwing a runner out at first. Perez lay on the ground for what seemed like an eternity before getting up and walking back to the dugout. For a team that has been nursing injury problems this spring, Ollie’s lack of pain provided a welcome sign to the Mets. But it wasn’t just pitching that earned them the win; it was their bats that screamed in nine runs in their 9-4 win over the Atlanta Braves. The Mets opened up the game with three runs off of Braves reliever Peter Moylan and never looked back, picking up the spring training sweep over the Braves.
