Recap: The Mets Mike Pelfrey was impressive in his three inning start, going scoreless and inducing six ground outs. The Mets offense backed up their pitcher scoring a run a piece in the second and third innings. But the Braves battled back putting up a run in the fourth when Matt Diaz singled in Jordan Schafer and then tied it up in the eighth off a sacrifice fly from Schafer. But it was the Mets with the final word in the 10th when Ruben Tejada hit a double to right-center that scored Michel Abreu from first giving the Mets the 3-2 win.
Next game: v. Phillies, March 4 @ 1:05 PM/est
News & Notes: Good news, the Braves are looking financially stable after earning $23 million in 2007...The Braves are high on catching prospect Tyler Flowers who was knocking some tape-measure like shots during Monday's batting practice...Reliever Matt DeSalvo says he's feeling more at home with the Braves...Scott Boras is looking for a big pay day in the off season when his client and Braves first baseman Mark Teixeira hits the open market. While Teixeira says he likes Atlanta, it maybe hard for the Braves to compete with the likes of the Yankees who are said to be interested in the two time gold glover.
It's been fun blogging with you,
