Good news, Good news Edition

The Braves got some great news on Monday. The first is that Mike Hampton may actually make it to the start of the season...healthy...well healthy enough to play after tossing 75 pitches in the Braves 4-2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday. I never ever, ever, ever thought Mike Hampton would pull through and make it to the regular season. But maybe I should bite my tongue it is after all only March 18th. But it is looking good. And even better for the Braves if they need an extra starter they've got a couple of good ones in the farm so they don't have to go out and pick up Mark Redman again.

The other good news they received is that following Jeff Francoeur's horrible hit to the head that had fans thinking back to 2004 without fond memories will not hinder his ability to play come Opening Day. He will take a couple days off, I mean you try getting wacked in the head a changeup and see how you feel, but he will be back.

Plus the Mets are completely falling a part. Jose Valentin is heading back to New York to get shots, Ramon Castro comes up limp running out what could have been a double on Sunday and then Carlos Delgado gets hit by the shard end of a Brady Clark bat during the same game. It just goes to show, you can't have everything.

It's been fun blogging with you,
Kate
