Golfing it out

While some of their teammates were over in Port St. Lucie taking on the Mets, John Smoltz, Tom Glavine and Jeff Francoeur were shooting a round of golf with Tiger Woods. It's not secret that the team is filled with golf enthusiasts, so it probably shouldn't surprise anyone that the crew skipped off to Isleworth after the morning workout. Or that Tiger Woods dominated that show, shooting a 66. Or as Tom Glavine described the Braves play,

"We got him maybe on a couple of holes. The other 16, he was pretty good."

The Woods match-up seems to be a tradition for Smoltzie, after all, isn't Smoltz the one with plans for the Senior Tour after he finishes up playing baseball? He has to get used to playing against the best at some point. But for Francoeur, who was playing in only his second game against the golf pro, it seemed his awe or maybe excitment might have gotten the best of him.

"Francoeur had trouble - he just could not calm down," Braves pitcher John Smoltz said.

Maybe next year.
